McWhorter School of Pharmacy at Samford University is offering a one week Pharmacy Camp this summer for high school students that are interested in investigating a career as a Pharmacist. We would like to invite your students to participate in this McWhorter School of Pharmacy Camp. During the week of pharmacy camp they will experience hands-on learning about health careers in pharmacy, participate in tours of local health care facilities and local pharmacies, participate in compounding activities and hands on demonstrations in the McWhorter School of Pharmacy science laboratory. Students who attend the camp will have the unique opportunity to spend time on the Samford campus and experience campus life with us, spend time with pharmacy professors, and have a lot of time to interact with other students also interested in careers in pharmacy.

The Simons Foundation Powering Autism Research for Knowledge (SPARK) and Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems have partnered to launch the SPARK Mobile App Contest.
We are excited to announce that our registration for the contest is now OPEN! Teams of high school and college students across the United States, up to graduate level, are invited to participate in this virtual contest to design and create mobile applications to support individuals with autism spectrum disorder, their family members and caregivers.
SPARK contestants will have the opportunity to submit for “best overall app” for a cash prize of $25,000. Other prizes that will be awarded to individuals/teams are in the categories of best app design ($1,000), best prototype app ($2,000) and best production-level app ($5,000). These three prizes will be awarded separately for high school, undergraduate and graduate individuals/teams.
No experience in mobile app development or mobile friendly websites is required to enter. The SPARK contest is looking for the best ideas, concepts, and creativity to support SPARK’s mission. Technical resources and autism experts will be available for assistance throughout the contest.

Youth United is hosting a FREE College Workshop for high school students, on Saturday November 18th, in downtown Atlanta. We invite your students to attend, to learn more about getting ready for college – we welcome students of all ages. Our Young Professionals group has planned a panel discussion and a 1x1 speed mentoring activity to do with the students – all about preparing to graduate, having a plan from a young age, scholarships, financial aid, applications… and any other questions the students might have. Students will leave with a resource packet and new connections to lean on for support.
